Mark arrived in
Canada in the summer of 2001 to take up a position in the department
of psychology at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. He was one of
the founding members of the CN Centre for Occupational Health and
Safety Centre and is on the Board of
Directors of the Centre.
Before coming to Canada he worked as a consultant in Scotland. He
has over nine years experience working with the Offshore Oil and Gas
industry in North Sea. He has authored numerous reports for the UK
Health and Safety Executive. He has particular knowledge of safety
culture, behaviour modification and the key role played by the
first-line supervisor in managing safety effectively.
