Current projects:

With co-researchers at Dalhousie University and a colleague at Saint Mary’s, I am involved in the evaluation of the effectiveness of community-based mentorship programs on youth on Nova Scotia’s South Shore. This project received a two year Strategic Research Grant from Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council’s (SSHRC) new ‘Non-profit Sector in Canada’ joint initiative.
I am working on a research study, which looks at nonprofit organizations in Halifax, and in Edmonton, AB to compare how they manage their paid staff and the larger issues involving human resources management in the not-for-profit sector.
With colleague Dr Larry Haiven, I am involved in a research project  "Human Resources Management and the division of labour among paid, volunteer an informal caregivers".
