Holistic An adjective which conveys the notion of inclusiveness. When one says that anthropology is a holistic academic discipline it refers to the fact that anthropologists are attuned to the multiplicity of casual factors when attempting to explain observed phenomena. When one says that an ethnography is holistic one refers to the fact that all aspects of the described community's activities are discussed.
Household A group of people who share a domicile. In many parts of the world all members of a household are kin to one another. In others, there may be a significant complement of non-kin such as workers, servants, and the like.
