CRITICAL ISSUES IN SOCIAL ANALYSIS

COURSE DOCUMENTS

NOTE:  As was discussed in Tuesday's class, the due date for the midterm essay exam has been extended to Monday, June 23 5:30 p.m. (due at the beginning of the class).  You can still choose to submit the midterm on time.  If you choose the extension then the essay is worth 40 points as opposed to 25 points, and you will not be guaranteed of having your work graded and returned by the last day of classes on the 26th.

FINAL EXAM INFO:  Issues to be covered are that pertaining to age, race & ethnicity and gender, chapters11, 12, & 13.  Questions on the exam will be based on the contents of these chapters but also on class discussions. It should be noted that these issues have been commented on in previous chapters that were required reading and thus you should be familiar with this material as well. The questions are not testing your memorization or regurgitation skills, but rather your critical thinking and analytical skills. There will be a maximum of 25 multiple choice questions, but you will be required to provide reasons for your selection of the best possible answer and thus points will be assigned for the correct answer but also your reasoning.
