NOTE:  Remember to review the requirements for written work and for this component of the assessment in your syllabus.

  1. What can be the effects of being unemployed for an extended period of time on an individual. Consider various scenarios: different social classes (use the 3 more general categorizations) and all the associated aspects of how social class translates into daily living experience when faced with this situation, e.g. different aspects of wellbeing, different housing, different education/employment opportunities, etc… You need to discuss comprehensively the relevant areas of a person’s life as they have been discussed in the textbook but also in class discussions.

  2. Considering the changes in the world of work over the past few decades, identify what are the changes that have affected your family and explain why. How has this affected your family's social class standing - here do consider the more accurate categorization of social classes? How are those changes affecting you, your past/current employment and your choice of education/future employment/career, and/or how might they affect you in the future? Explain your reasoning.

In answering these questions, sources should be provided for the arguments you are presenting, e.g. the textbook, but also additional sources should be sought.
