10 % oral presentation of debate

 

You must research and present many arguments convincingly (regardless of whether you agree or not) in support of your position on the issue. You must also be aware of counter arguments to your arguments, as well as be familiar with arguments of the other position to yours.

10% written submission of debate

 

The following is required in your written submission of in class debate:

  1. Outline the arguments you used in the in-class debate using academic style writing (3rd person) – provide historical context, important dates and/or court cases, rational of argument, etc…

  2. Provide sources for these arguments in a recognized bibliographic format. Find at least 3 sources of information outside of the textbooks.

  3. Describe where you stood on this issue before you undertook this research. Explain reasons for your views. Use 1st person style writing.

  4. Describe where you stand now after this debate. Explain reasons for your views. Use 1st person style writing
